Meagan
Meagan and Sophie bareback 4'
Meagan owns Sophie, Feyre, and Scooter and is in charge of training horses, riders, and takes care of the website and advertising. Meagan started boarding at NRS in fall of 2010 and has helped to get the boarding underway and managing the facility. Meagan has been riding since she was in fourth grade with friends but started taking structured lessons in seventh grade at a local farm called Keezlenutten. Meagan was always very natural on a horse and advanced quickly with lessons, and started jumping on her 6th lesson! Quickly advancing to showing in hunters before moving to jumpers where she's been competing since 2002. Meagan spent most of those years starting new horses in the jumper ring and mainly showing in Child/Adult and Low jumpers. In 2010 Meagan decided to switch over to eventing since purchasing Sophie. Meagan has always had a desire, but not a horse she could use, for eventing, but with Sophie being such an honest jumper it seemed an easy choice to switch. Meagan bought Sophie in Spring 2010 as a very green mare and has brought her along from a walking mount to showing in jumpers, training level eventing, and dressage. Meagan truly enjoys training horses and spending as much time with them as possible. Meagan also enjoys teaching others and can often be heard coaching people through anything at any time and also trains and coaches off property in the area. She loves learning new techniques and is always studying new methods and learning anything possible about horses. Her dream is to compete successfully through modified jumpers (but would always go higher if she could!) and training level eventing, if she has a horse to progress and go higher she will gladly do it, but would like to at least compete at those levels. Meagan is very confident with horses and is a very brave jumper, but truly values a connection with her horse and enjoys a bareback ride just as much as flying around a course of jumps!

*Meagan is available for partial training of horses from groundwork through finishing off for the show ring. She is also available to coach you through the training of your own horse, or teaching techniques on horses at the farm, and can help coach a rider wanting to develop more riding skills. Very reasonable rates since Meagan does this on the side as a hobby. If interested email her at [email protected]*

Amy
Amy and Ceasar doing games
Amy also went to Bridgewater College and has been at NRS since early 2011. She owns two horses that she boards at NRS, Caesar and Chance. Amy has owned Caesar since 2001 and has done most of his training and he does a little bit of everything! Caesar and Amy have competed in hunters, eventing, jumpers, fox hunts, and games; fox hunting and gaming being their favorite. Amy is a good rider, with great equitation form, and is very relaxed and natural on a horse. She really enjoys her horse Caesar and loves to take him on fox hunts, although sometimes Caesar gets the urge to gallop unexpectedly. Amy enjoys second flight, or mock hunts, but has been a whip in the past and her and Caesar had to jump 3' or higher while chasing the dogs! Amy is currently working with a trainer for her horse Chance who had some rough riding which lead to bad habits and some unwillingness. Through their lessons with Jerry at Bridgewater, Chance and Amy have become quite a pair and have really improved. Chance does well with Amys soft nature and is a lot more relaxed and supple under saddle. Theyve even started jumping, something Chance didnt get to do in the past because he would become too unruly. Amy hopes to move Chance to the hunter ring and also do trails with him in the future once he is more solid in his training.
